It would be no weirder than those kitty litter box cakes that were so popular a few years back, and AFAIK, bakeries were perfectly happy to make those.

IOW, no force required.
if I owned a bakery and an Evangelist came in and wanted a cake that said "all unsaved Jews go to he!!," I'd refuse - and also tell him where HE can go.

I don't understand the entire concept of FORCING businesses, and business owners to do anything they don't want to do. It is THEIR business! They should be able to refuse to do things just based upon their ownership rights.

exactly right. Owners choice, their decision.

And this is another example of liberal hypocrisy. Re the BDS issue, you have liberals saying that we can't tell employees who they can and cannot refuse to do business with - and then we have the same liberals insisting that a business owner MUST bake a "sex change" cake.

What bothers me about this situation is it nothing but a set up. Same attorney as before with the gay couple who wanted a wedding cake. They are merely attempting to "manufacture outrage" to score points for their side, but it pushes my sympathy closer to the baker. I don't agree with the baker's beliefs about homosexuality, but I agree with his religious right to hold mistaken beliefs. And the Supreme Court already agreed with that right as well, another reason this attorney makes me furious. Please, there are real problems in the world he could help fight instead of making up fake battles about a "gender transition cake."

BTW, I'm sure many here have seen videos of a gay couple (perhaps they were merely posing as a gay couple) go into multiple Muslim-owned bakeries, and be refused a wedding cake. I haven't heard of any lawsuits against those bakers.

Edited because I realized I didn't actually answer OP's question. No. Liberals (or anyone else) should not be forced to make cakes that violate their beliefs either.

This latest lawsuit against this bakery is nothing more than abuse of our legal system. A bakery isn't providing life saving services nor is it the only bakery available.

Once again Americans seeing for no valid reason.
It is also clearly targeting.

What do you think the odds are of the latest plaintiff randomly walking into said bakery?

so the baker should be able to choose who they work for

Should a landlord refuse to rent to black people because they hate black people?

Yes and replace black with white and the answer is same. Property rights a̶r̶e̶ should be absolute.

Do laws forcing relationships on people, change peoples minds about one another?

What did he say about our constitution? Oh yeah not a thing.

Either we have freedom or we dont. This bakery was targeted. It wasn't a random selection. It isn't the only bakery in the world or even in town. Who would want food made by people who hates them?

I am pro transgender and support their right to their freedoms. Go to a different bakery. Its that simple.
