A New Zealand man has been jailed for almost two years for sharing a video of the Christchurch mosque shootings that killed 51 people.

He's also a Nazi who thought the killings were "awesome"

I initially posted this after reading the headline and assuming this was just a normal guy. That's why you need to read the full article.

If you read the article, the guy is a Nazi. Suggested adding a body count tally board, and thought that having all the Muslims killed was cool. He even uses Nazi imagery in his company logo. His complete lack of remorse and likelihood to reoffend were keys to his sentence.

He can rot for a year. I'm good with that.

Yeah...I read that later. I impulsively pressed the "post" button after reading the first couple parts of it. If someone has a confederate flag...that can be a peaceful symbol. If someone says they're a Nazi...maybe they just want political changes and have no intent to actually harm anyone themselves, or maybe they're just edgy.

If someone both has Neo-Nazi imagery as their company logo, and thinks it's "awesome" when dozens of people were killed, and is sharing the video with other people, probably while including messages like "look how great this is" That's the type of person I'm hoping is being monitored by the police.

Nazis should be free to spread their propaganda, same as everyone else.

This goes beyond that though, and is clearly incitement.

The issue isn't what kind of guy he is. The issue is the banning on internet-sharing of violent videos. The idea is appealing.
