Rapinoe wasn't the best 4 years ago when they won, and she was one of the oldest this time around, yet they continued to put her out there. It was clearly a political stunt.

Actually, playing the National Anthem is a relatively new phenomena, and prior to our becoming such a militaristic nation we sang "My Country Tis of Thee." It stresses our unique one-ness, and our freedom. No military, no religion, just love for our land and the people in it.
If I ever get so petty and miserable that I wait to see if anyone tweets about an event, please put me out of my misery.
