The Democrat Party has drifted so far towards Marxism, JFK would be considered far alt-right today.

Change my mind!

Maybe not alt right but he would be considered far too conservative. Just his speech where he said "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." would have black balled him out of contention.
The Dems are all about big government and entitlements. Kennedy was not.

He was anti-property rights and a genocidal madman...just like the 33 presidents before him and the ten after him.

Maybe that's all that matters?

Probably not alt right, but absolutely not a democrat either. As Richard Nixon recalled in his memoir after their first TV debate, “Kennedy conveyed the image — to 60 million people — that he was tougher on Castro and communism than I was.”
In the modern democrat party that tough stance would get denounced as racist, or xenophobic, or who knows what else. As a fiscal conservative, Kennedy would be appalled at the reckless spending habits of both parties these days.

It was a far, far better time in this country when people were thoughtful and used common sense.

JFK was for low taxes and a strong military. Dems today would stone him.

Your homestate in particular was so virulently anti JFK, that Lyndon Johnson, Governor Connelly, the Mayor of Dallas, and the whole damn secret service were terrified for Kennedy’s life and advised him not to even travel there. He did it anyway to tragic results.

Conservatives considered him a flaming left wing wacko back then (mostly because they were afraid that he’d end Jim Crow in Texas’s case), so don’t switch up now and claim that comparatively, he was conservative.

Kennedy’s legacy is as a Liberal Democrat, and it will remain that way forever despite wing nut revisionist bullhockey.
