The results of the 2018 elections pretty much show he can win the state even with the most potent R in the country personally gunning for him.

I doubt running during an election when there is more of an every man for himself atmosphere will prove any different.

He also doesn't fit into the extremist Republican party, now does he? Trump attacks him at every opportunity.

Manchin is one of those rare things we ever see anymore - a moderate. In our polarized nation - that means neither party likes him.

Sanders beat Hillary in WV. Joe didn't win by the margins he normally does last time. Those who voted Sanders are backing Stephen Smith.

Is it likely that Joe would win if he gets past the primary? Most likely but the question in WV is whether he can get past the primary.

Situation reversed. The odds of this being said by the poster is nearly zero. (It is only honorable when increasing the power of the GOP?)

Both parties are examples of why we need jungle primaries, ranked choice voting, non partisan ballots, and anything else that diminishes the power of the corrupt and extremist two party system.

Manchin is one of the few sparks of sanity left in the Democratic party. Given that the party has essentially abandoned him and every other moderate and working person in this country, it makes sense for him to leave the party. In a party dominated these days by nit-wits like Maxine, AOC, Omar and Schumer, he really has no place. I can't imagine him screeching for socialism and "free chit" constantly.

He is definitely not far right. The problem is that the national Democrats have moved very far to the left. People like AOC are ruining the party. If you think an ultra liberal Democrat can win WV, then you are out of your mind.

The Republicans have also moved far to the right. Both parties are more extreme than they were in the past.

When a poster is far far left, everything looks right.

Dem politicians have to march in lock step. Manchin probably choked on too much Kool-Aid. He would have more autonomy as a governor.

By the way, Schumer has been awfully quiet lately, hasn't he? It's like when you have toddlers playing in the other room and suddenly it grows very quiet. Not a good sign!
