LMAO at people comparing church bells to wailing over loud speakers.

Some of you are predictable, I'll say that much.

I used to live near a Mosque in Atlanta that broadcast the call over a loud speaker. It is just as bothersome as church bells IMO. Neither of them though should be shut down or singled out.

The trains though are worse to me.

Church bells going off every hour. Muslim call to prayer.....how often? I don't care about the church bells really & listening to that video, I don't care about the Muslim call to prayer. But oh, look at those who do find issue with it. Shocking! Predictable indeed.

I think prayers are much worse, because they're actually pushing a religious message.

Whether or not I can understand it, is irrelevant imo -I can't understand German, but I wouldn't want to hear Hitler's speeches broadcast either.

I thought liberals were always insisting they would never be governed by religious laws and dictates?

Where are they now?

How is this a religious law or dictate? I am not required to attend service, or even listen to it. Just like church bells do not require me to go to church or pay a tithe, or even pay attention to the bells.

Either we ban all religious groups from ringing bells or broadcasting, or all are allowed to do so.

A sensible compromise, would be to remove the words and just have music -then there is no religious doctrine being openly promoted.

Isn't there some sort of rule regarding one's right to promote one's religion? I could have sworn, some "amendment" thing, had a number as well - a low number...

Nah, I'm probably mistaken.

Amendments are dumb, if they just become a tool for allowing regular religious broadcasts in public places.
