What would it take to get Americans to be this mad? And I mean all, just just right or left..

The HK government is proposing (or WAS proposing) the extradition condtions there - and Carrie Lam (the Chief Executive) is definitely not the Hong Kong equivalent of liberal, millenial, or a snowflake. She's an establishment career civil servant.
The young people in Hong Kong are pro free market capitalists. Their parents and grandparents learned first hand that communism and socialism don't work.

Bizarre post OP....you sounded really reasonable until you decided to inject U.S politics into it and then compare Communist party in China to Democrats and liberals in here. Funny thing though, is I always see the Left protesting authority...and when they do, you ask them where they get the free time and why don't they have jobs? Right-wingers protest...but only on abortion or if it's organized by a astroturf group such as the Tea Party protests. Also, I don't see the Left calling the free press in this country "enemies of the people" like your Dear Leader Trump. This is talk you only see in countries like China or N. Korea! Sure....the Left wants to restrict gun ownership in order to lower gun murders....but they don't call for a full on ban. You also forget that full authoritarian power can come from either the Far Left or the Far Right......such as either Stalin and Mao.....or Hitler and Mussolini!
