If people think of pollsters as "strangers" they are extremely ignorant of the world of polling. Polls are attempting to discover reality by taking opinions from a sample of the population. They have no interest in any one individual who answers a poll. I worked in polling for many years. The results are all that matters...all the personal information collected is simply to see how different groups compare to each other...group being the key word..pollsters don't focus on you as an individual but as part of different demographics and cross tabs.
I never get called or visited by pollsters. No one seems to have a problem finding me when they want me to serve on a jury, but polls...they never ask.
I'm not going to give personal info to some yahoo that calls me on the phone or comes to my door. People who know me, know where I stand and who I voted for.
I don't answer calls from unknown numbers so haven't answered any political poll in decades.
discussing politics isn't prudent in Austin unless you are a progressive. the chance for confrontation and name calling is ever present. trump will get my vote in 2020, but few outside my immediate family know.
Never take calls from phone numbers noty in my address book or that I don't recognize.
The legitimate ones leave a voicemail.
Exactly what I was going to say. I don't answer calls that are not from those in my contact list. If it is important they will leave a message.
But lately I've been getting multiple messages left from the "Social Security" spam idiots. The recording of which says my account has been given the axe. I had read about it before ever hearing from one. I delete their VM right away. The real SS doesn't call you.
When a stranger calls and identifies themselves as a pollster, will you say “yes” or “no” to voting for Trump In 2020?
Many Trump supporters are afraid of the outrage and hatred by the left and just as many of my family members and friends, I believe most Trump supporters will not give their honest vote to a stranger/pollster by phone or in the street, unless surrounded by fellow supporters. JMO!
I do not tolerate any robo calls of any kind and would hang up long before any pollster could ask a question....if I even answer the phone.
Someone asks in person and I have no problem saying if I voted for trump.
The poll results here tells us that the national polls will highly underestimate Trump support, and Democrats will go insane on election night.
If you liberals really want to get a better reading, you'll stop attacking Trump voters with a venom more appropriate to Hitler. If not, expect a repeat of 2016. Surprise!!
It would seem the consensus of this topic is that most people's phone these days is a mobile phone and they won't answer the phone from unknown phone #s.
So basically, what the pollsters tell us these days is basically garbage when it comes to Trump.
