Goldwater/ Reagan conservativism is an offshoot of classical liberalism with a belief in free men, free markets and free trade. Trumping is simply social conservativism and economic mercantilism that has been rejected by every sane economist since Adam Smith.

Free markets and free trade are great! Until it’s your job that is given to someone overseas that is happy to do it for 1/10 the pay.

White collar workers smugly looked down on all of the blue collar workers and told them “tough luck, you should have gone to college.” But now white collar jobs are also going overseas or being replaced by H1-B immigrants.

The end result is downward pressure on wages for all Americans, and increased profits for the corporate elite.

Thanks to globalism. When we want to protect jobs, suddenly it's compared to nazism. Hmmm, why would they be so protective of cheap foreign labor? Because they're greedy, not because they're progressive.

Correct. Big Business is all about money, not progressivism or any other kind of “ism.”

Globalization means access to cheap labor, so big business promotes globalization.

The end result is lower prices for consumers. More goods for less money. Unemployment is below 4%.

When it comes to greed, we can not place classical labels on that.

My whole life I’ve been greedy, greedy, greedy. I’ve grabbed all the money I could get. I’m so greedy. But now I want to be greedy for the United States. I want to grab all that money. I’m going to be greedy for the United States.

Donald Trump.

My whole life I’ve been greedy, greedy, greedy.

To me this is a flaw in an individual as opposed to some belief system. Nothing matters but their greed. It's like the person that takes the life of another to satisfy some urge inside of them.

IMO.

It's sad that Graham and Falwell never speak on this aspect of their beliefs.

These right wing bible trumpers preach from the Gospel according to Gordon Gekko. "Greed is good."

The prices aren’t low enough to make up for the lower wages.

You’re better off paying $15 for a hair dryer while having a manufacturing job paying $25/hr than paying $10 for a hair dryer and making $9/hr at Wal-Mart.

They actually resemble Ron Paul libetarians more than anything else.

Modern-day "liberals" are a different breed. I don't think they can even be said to have derived from Hippie movement. The Millenial SJW thing is a new movement entirely.

I think during the 1960s you could have a difference of opinion with a Hippie and they would agree to disagree or invite you to have a polite, well-reasoned debate. The same can obviously not be said about modern liberals.

Here is how I see the modern liberal movement:

* Vague, meaningless causes, stick the word "Rights" or "Justice" at the end of anything ("Trans Rights", "Housing Rights", "Educational Justice", etc.)
* Use intimidation and force to silence dissenting opinions
* Orwellian Double-Speak (ex. use the term "Minorities" to refer to 90% of the population)
* Anti-Science, generally anti- anything that is Western such as Medicine, Physics, Propositional Logic
* Anti-Sex (Millenials are getting laid less than previous generations)

Basically a joke.
HA HA HA! ^^^ This is the joke.

LOCK HER UP!

and Mexico will pay for it!

Trump is actually a centrist on policy. He's pretty damn sane compared to hard left socialist wackos like AOC that want to bring Venezuela to America.
