It is TRUMP OFFICIALS who callously testified in court that those CHILDREN don't need soap or toothbrushes. What kind of a humanitarian are you?
These are KIDS!!!!
Where was your outrage when this same judge slapped down the Obama administration in 2015 for “widespread deplorable conditions” and “wholly failing” to provide “safe and sanitary” conditions? The fact that you care not one whit about that treatment of THE CHILDREN!!! exposes your obvious agenda.
Mpowering brings up a great point - one that exposes the fake personalities here.
Nobody here ever talks about homeless American children and their hygiene needs. But take a group of gate-crashing freeloading immigrants and we’re chastised for our lack of compassion and toothpaste.
You can’t make this up. Progressivism has become *that* screwy.
It really shouldn't be one group over the other. The same people screeching about immigrants are the ones screeching about 'handouts' to poor people.
Bottom line, we should be able to help our own AND treat people humanely while they are in our country.
Sorry. No. It should most certainly be Americans for Americans before anyone else. Mexicans should be for Mexicans before anyone else. French for French. Portuguese for Portuguese. And so on.
When you fly on a plane they tell you to put on your own oxygen mask first, before helping others for a good reason. Only once we ensure our own good health are we better able to assist others.

"Treat people humanely while they are in our country".
That is great and I think we all agree. But what happens if these people have illegally entered the country?
In a world of almost 8 billion people should non-citizens just be able to illegally enter another country and demand that the government take care of them?
Are not the American people and their elected officials sovereign in their own country? Or are we going to let a few unelected judges decide our immigration policies, backed ultimately by a few billionaires and corporations looking for cheap labor?
Your dramatics are entertaining, if not completely phony and senseless.
I love the histrionics. But the CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They're KIDS!!!!! With TEETH!!!!!!!!!!!!! They need TOOTHBRUSHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And SOAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: What about the homeless CHILDREN waking up on the streets next to a pile of feces and discarded needles? Or those suffering at the hands of human trafficking?
OP: Are they American?
Me: Yes.
OP: Meh.
It's all phony. Like someone posted - if they had been given soap and toothbrushes, and the parents were given champagne and caviar, the complaints would be about something else.
Is there anyone, I don't care right, left or in the ether, that isn't outraged that Trump officials would even HINT that it is OK not to provide the basic, basic sanitary needs for children. CHILDREN!!!!
Never mind that they have to sleep on concrete floors, in near freezing conditions, only with aluminum blankets on them.
In court yet, under sworn testimony! I am just outraged, incensed that any thinking, feeling human being would dare think this, never mind say it under the threat of perjury.
Has empathy in the Trump administration for human beings, and especially CHILDREN sunk this low? Yes, AOC was right, these ARE concentration camps.
Are you OK?
