Yes, we've all heard that old canard. It doesn't hold true. I'm a liberal Baby Boomer. Was liberal in the 1970s and am even more liberal today. The real numbers in the conservative membership are from the generation ahead of us. The old people who are dying off now.

The Millennial generation is overwhelmingly color and gender blind. They believe in things like gender fluidity, climate change, diversity, income inequality, gun control, environmental issues. They are not religious in the slightest.

THIS is the group you believe will turn into conservatives?

Dream on.

A great question OP and you are not going to like the answer.... they don't care about you.

You don't have to love Trump or wear a MAGA hat to vote for him. I'm independent and I have voted for Dems before but given the current crop of 2020 hopefuls and their ridiculous ideas, plans and schemes for the future I will be voting Trump again. He might not be the best he might not be ideal but he is not going to fundamentally change America into something that those who love it wouldn't recognize.

I'm a middle aged white guy whose politics lean to the Right and I know that the modern Democrat party has given up on me and my fellow Flag waving Constitution respecting Deplorables so I'm giving up on them.

With the onslaught of negativity and tantrums since Trump took office the Dems don't deserve to be back in power.

Whats with the absolute pandering for votes they've been doing?
California wants healthcare for Illegals?!?! I work 60 hours/week and can barely afford healthcare. Now they want my tax dollars to pay for an illegal to get it for free! I just had a tooth pulled because a root canal was too expensive but wait... we have to subsidize people who don't even live, work or pay taxes here (legally)???
Complete pandering for the Mexican vote.
News flash. Mexican Americans living and working in California probably feel the same way I do.
New York wants to give illegals drivers licenses! Really? Like some illegal alien is going to sign up at the registry. Never going to happen, just pandering for the Hispanic vote in NY.

Why don't they do what their original base voters want them to do and support the middle class.
We don't want old school socialism but we need social safety nets so one trip to the MD doesn't mean you cannot pay rent that month.

Giving away tax dollars for votes is as bad as the Reps giving tax breaks for votes!!!

Who are you kidding with your faux outrage?

As long as you have to preface criticism of one of your party's main platforms with an obligatory criticism of Republicans, and consider workers keeping more of OUR money on par with providing free health care to illegals, you'll always be in the Dems' pockets.

Enjoy your stay on their plantation.

Republicans have to believe the old wive’s tale about people automatically becoming conservatives as they age, because without it, they’re admitting they’re totally screwed.

Quote:
The notion that age and political ideology are related goes back at least to French monarchist statesman François Guizot, who originated the oft-mangled quotation, “Not to be a republican at 20 is proof of want of heart; to be one at 30 is proof of want of head.” But data from the Pew Research Center’s new political typology report indicate that, while different age cohorts do have markedly different profiles, the relationship is considerably more complex than young=liberal and old=conservative.

I'm a GenX'er and I left the Republican Party (or whats left of it). The party I once affiliated with has become toxic and extreme.

I'm an independent and lean with Democrats now.

The Libertarian stance is completely open borders, yes?

This is it right here too.

The GOP is a dead party walking.
I hear what you are saying....then I look at:

2008: Obama pres., house D, senate D
2016: Trump pres, house R, senate R

So, the results all flowed the exact opposite direction of what you've been predicting.

This has been a meme since Bush I was in office, so maybe ask yourself where the new R's are coming from?
Because you really suck at your analysis and predictions.

Some of you are bringing up Republicans - I don't care what the Republicans are doing and I'll never call myself a Republican. My expectations for them are nil. It's the Democrats I expected more from. They're so busy banging the reparations drum and finding new ways to make the lives of illegals even easier, they're completely ignoring the struggles of American's.
