She is obviously radically far left, and proposing things that are ridiculous, impossible, and destructive like the New Green Deal. However, it is getting traction within the Party and influencing what the candidates are proposing. This shows how influential and popular some extreme positions have become.
Yep, just shows how little accurate history is taught or known by our manipulated young folk. I see our future trajectory to be following the path of Venezuela...hope I'm wrong (which would be extremley rare).
What I think is really hilarious is how this young lady has accomplished more in her 20 some years than any of the complainers on here. She really scares the Hell out of you, doesn't she ?
Foolish people are everywhere and there is no law in the USA that restricts them from living in clusters. AOC's congressional district just has a higher concentration.
Here in New York there are Dems who are hoppin mad at this girl. She was a cheerleader leading up to the Amazon disaster.
And then after Amazon pulled out she said something to the effect "great! Now the $3 billion can be spent on teachers, subways....". That revealed that she HAD NO UNDERSTAND OF THE BASICS OF THE DEAL. There is no $3 billion! Amazon was to be given future tax credis which were strictly benchmarked to its creation of jobs.
Her crazy ideology cost New York $27 billion in tax revenue.

Totally right about the people in her district. 89% of them did not even vote in the primary, so the little girl actually won with just 8% of the registered Dems vote.
To understand Octasio-Cortez, as you said, you have to understand the kind of people who make up her district. I live only about 20 miles east of that district. The people are largely Hispanic, low education, and low income.
The Hispanic angle alone would have gotten her elected. She ran against a white man who was first elected 20 years ago. The ethnicity of the district changed a lot and its not surprising that they voted for one of their own.
No doubt that low education and low income added to her tally. They're even dumber than she is. She could come out with a million gaffes and they wouldn't know the difference. She knocked on doors and passed out fliers promising FREE everything. Why wouldn't such people believe her?
Being the candidate with the "D" after her name will get her automatically re-elected into her old age over there. Doesn't matter that she's a dingbat and has an extreme ideology (even if she herself doesn't understand that ideology).
Look, if the chairman of the Democratic National Committee believes that this idiot is "the future face of the Democratic party", then how can you fault a bunch of poorly educated know-nothings?
The only positive I can say about her is that she is not evil, just ignorant and stupid. There are two other new and radical Dem congresswomen, Omar and Tlaib, who ARE evil. They are much more dangerous than this silly little girl. In fact, I think this girl will be good for Republicans in that she is pulling the party to the radical left. The leading Dem presidential candidates have endorsed her Green New Mess. Radical leftism (or rightism) will not win a presidential election.
Being that she is fixated and radical she'll see everything connected to her fixations.
It is working for her. The more outrageous, and far left, radical her statement, the more MEDIA attention, and controversy she generates. Why should she stop? Oh yes, it is at the expense of the country, but what does she care?
In other news, AOC claims that sewer rats are the result of global climate change. AOC points out that rising temperatures are driving sewer rats into the sewers where the temperatures are more comfortable for them. AOC worries that if something isn't done soon, that the sewer rat as we know it will be forever lost, effectively destroying future generations of lawyers and politicians.
I love AOC. She is amazing. I truly believe that she believes everything she says. She is an idealist. She is much more personable than Pelosi, Waters or Warren.
It's not the cows...Did you know that a human farts an average of 14 times a day? There are 7.7 billion humans on the planet today...Do the math.
The problem with AOC's Green New Deal is that it only regulates the farts in the US. The great majority of farts take place outside the US, especially in China and India where the average human farts 19 and 16 times a day, respectively……….it's the food. That's 28,978,522,627 farts every single day in China and India alone!
So her idea will do very little to effect climate change, unless she can convince those governments to put strict anti-farting laws in place...………...or radically change their food habits. And unfortunately even if violators of such a law were imprisoned, they would continue to fart in jail.
I feel so sorry for the girl. She was so enthusiastic.
It's sad.....so sad.
