I have a job, a good one, and have employer subsidized insurance, but it still sucks (i.e. deductibles, co pays, etc).

And you say you'll never let that happen? Didn't know you were the dictator of this country

Pretty much a lifelong conservative, I’d vote for Bernie over Trump. Understanding that the president cannot implement socialism. That would be more relevant to the legislature.

Also Trump is further to the left economically than Clinton....

The only answer that serves everyone is democratic socialism.

You need a certain amount of water to survive.

But if you have too much water, you die.

It's the same with our system of government.

We just don't trust Bernie and his ilk not to open up the flood gates.

No matter who is President, they just can't enact socialism by themselves. They're supposed to work with Congress.

As others have said we already have some socialist things in place.

The reason I ask this question because there's already been at least one mainstream talking head (Joe Scarborough) who admitted that he would vote for Trump if Bernie Sanders were the Democratic nominee, despite how much he loathes him and rails against him on his show. So I imagine he's not alone in feeling that way.
Do you people not know that socialism is just a modern form of slavery?

Not one single socialist policy can be implemented without slaughtering or threatening to slaughter a lot of people.

This is an absurd poll, with a fake dichotomy. Luckily, Bernie Sanders has taken the curse off the word "socialism" - and I certainly know many people, including Republicans, who ignorantly rant against socialism, but would never dream of voting to eliminate their Medicare or Social Security benefits.

It's not a matter of Trump vs. Socialism. It's a matter of Trump vs. the rule of law. Trump vs. sanity/civility. Trump vs. a push for trustworthy elections. Trump vs. women's right to make decisions about their own bodies.

By the way, when was that example of Scarborough - now, or three years ago?

I didn't vote for Bernie - not because of the "socialism," but because I felt that he was unrealistic in his ideas and lacked the capacity for compromise, which is essential to workable politics.
