That is what far-right posters do around here when they can't put together a counter argument.

Ah, there you are. Well done.
Yeah, if you watched the video you would see there was no script. The woman sounded like a first year law student, totally out of her element. Then maybe you could post about the actual topic, after you view the video.

The 1997 Flores Settlement Agreement addresses the treatment of minors in custody of the Department of Homeland Security.

Quote:
On January 28, 1997 the parties agreed to a consent decree regarding immigration detention standards for children and in which the government agreed to keep children in the least restrictive setting possible and to ensure the prompt release of children from immigration detention.

Terms of the agreement
The Flores Agreement set national policy for the detention, release and treatment of minors in the custody of the Immigration and Naturalization Service. According to the legal nonprofit Human Rights First, the Agreement "imposed several obligations on the immigration authorities.

-food and drinking water as appropriate,
-medical assistance if minor is in need of emergency services,
-toilets and sinks,
-adequate temperature control and ventilation,
-adequate supervision to protect minors from others,
-contact with family members who were arrested with the minor and
-separation from unrelated adults whenever possible.

PHMA, just to make sure we all understand your logic, are you saying we should be asking why six year old children, who have no say whatsoever in what happens to them or where they're taken, dont show up to the border without soap?

Just checking.

WTH does your post mean? Here is the entire hearing uncut and unscripted. Watch so that your head gets out of the sand! Are you just another, self-proclaimed, pro-life advocate that doesn't care about the mistreatment of children?

Correct, Legally not in the list for detainees- however if that detention is long term it’s imprisonment. 2nd a child that does not have good hygiene will get sick. So you are now tittering with the neglect of that child.

There is nothing in the agreement about hygiene or hygiene supplies. I feel it’s pretty minor to provide such things, but note that it’s not a requirement.

I did note as well that the agreement calls for minor children to be kept separated from non-related adults. This is exactly what is happening, and what so many of you are screaming about. They began keeping children away from unrelated adults because they were being sexually assaulted by men in the same camps as them. Should we go back to that program, folks?

I wonder how many people on this thread, arguing that children shouldn't be treated with common human decency, went to church this morning and felt good about themselves.

Well the dead don't travel on their own very far.
If these two items are necessary for life why take a long journey without them ?

As one of the judges said, "wouldn't that be obvious?"
Let me ask you this: Has the great America trump built include being so cheap and unemphatic that we cannot provide soap and toothbrushes to children who have been displaced at no fault of their own?

Is this the America you want?
