These right wing extremists with their collections of guns and fondness for violence are very dangerous. We must always guard against those like Tim McVeigh who murdered 168 and injured nearly 700 in the Oklahoma City bombing.

Who knows? The linked article doesn't say anything about a threat. It just quotes a spokeswoman for Senate President Peter Courtney as saying it was "possible" that there was a threat, but the article says nothing about whether there was a threat or, if so, what it might be.
If the Democrats pass the legislation they are pushing, it will kill the logging industry in Oregon. So I guess the militants are protecting the people.
In fact, this legislation, if passed, would lead the logging industry to operate more cleanly and efficiently and it actually would become more profitable. This scenario has been acted out many times in other polluting industries and those that followed more environmentally-conscious practices, became more successful. Some of the leaders of those industries even admitted that this was true. Many industrial operations have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into practices that benefit everyone, including them.
