What's wrong with this picture? The driver of the horrific crash in New Hampshire that killed 7 motorcyclists a few days ago has convictions for heroin and cocaine but yet, as per his father, had just been granted a Green Card. WTF?!
Something is seriously wrong with our immigration system if we're granting Green Cards to convicts. Is this the best and brightest we can attract? Legal immigrant or not, once convicted of a crime, they should be expelled from the U.S.A.. They had a chance to be a productive member of society and blew it. Bye-bye.

Yea, agree, have no idea why the gov would allow someone with such history to be in the US, let alone grant them a green card.

Yet there are plenty of people with zero issues, still waiting for their immigration visa, hell, trying to get a tourist visa to visit family in the US...

Depends on when the conviction was v. when the paperwork went through. That's the problem with having a process that takes years to complete. Details can change between checkpoints.

Secondly, green cards aren't for life anymore. They have a 10 year renewal. Rest assured, his wouldn't have been renewed, but it's a non-issue, as it will be revoked upon completion of his sentence for these offenses (allegedly)

That's true but sad. I can make a purchase with my credit card and I get a notification alert on my cell phone within a minute or two but yet there is slow communications between states with criminal (and other) records. One would think that in this day and age, there would be an "instant" recording of records between all states.

Guy’s father is the source of inf about the green card.

Maybe, just maybe, the guy’s father was misinformed by his @#$&* son.

Otherwise it makes zero sense that he was granted a green card with felony convictions.

I was unaware that there was a shortage of truck drivers in the US.

Massachusetts dropped the ball on this one. Erin Deveney, the head of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, resigned Tuesday over its failure to terminate Zhukovskyy’s commercial driver’s license after the Connecticut incident. The RMV was notified of the arrest by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles.

Are you implying they have connections at the RMV, etc. or are you just race baiting and trolling?

Some people have no shame after 7 innocent people died that they use it for political trolling.

Apparently he was not really a 'truck driver'...he was driving a pick up truck, not a tractor trailer type truck.

Truckers are upset with him being called a 'truck driver' though, I saw an article in CDL life about this incident, they say the driving public hates tractor trailers bad enough already, this will just make it worse.

It appears he was driving an 18 wheeler early June in Texas, which he flipped, saying he was avoiding a car but there were no witnesses and no charges.

https://www.bostonherald.com/2019/06...xas-weeks-ago/

Quote:
The Massachusetts trucker charged with killing seven bikers last week in New Hampshire had flipped an 18-wheeler two weeks earlier in Texas, according to police.

The same Texas department also reported finding a crack pipe in Volodymyr Zhukovskyy’s pocket a few months earlier when he was “talking to himself and acting strange” at Denny’s.

But when Zhukovskyy returned home after the 18-wheeler crash, Westfield Transport — a trucking company one expert said has a “pretty bad” track record with drivers — still let him behind the wheel.
