Bill Maher, amongst others, has spewed this tin foil helmet nonsense about how they don't think Trump will leave office if he looses in 2020.

Where does this even come from?

Do y'all think he's going to barricade himself in the oval office with an AR-15?

Kind of ironic too considering how the Left made such a big deal over Trump's answer to the debate question on whether he'd accept the results of the election and when Dems lost they threw a hissy fit of denial and excuses that is still going on to this day.

This is nothing new. Heck I had a friend who was sure Obama would not step aside citing that he would argue Trump was not sane enough to be President and that the Dems and the Black Community would support him. There are just some people who can't let a good Conspiracy theory come by without jumping on board.

Difference this time is such rhetoric is being spread by the President himself not just conspiracy theorists. Even if it is just bluster.

Trump is to blame. He is a loose canon. He says all kinds of things that undermine the machinery of democracy like disparaging his own law enforcement branch, disparaging the election process and in general acting irrational. Nobody knows what he will do or say next, it is a personality trait he has cultivated. So why would anyone be surprised that people think he might do something crazy like not leave office?

I was wondering this too.

I have a co-worker with a very malignant case of TDS and he's said it a few times now. I ask him point blank WTF is he talking about, as this isn't some third world nation where that sort of thing happens. He can never really provide an answer, just mumbles some about how he won't leave.

I wonder if this is just some crap that gets played on NPR as he's just a good little drone repeating what he hears.

Not a fan of Trump really, but I can't imagine someone not dragging his rear out of the office physically if needed when he's eventually gone or termed out.

Trump is an ugly troll that grew up under the Brooklyn Bridge. I'm not sure if he is serious about it or if it is him continuing to troll us. The problem is he is so serious when telling a joke, it is hard to know what really is, especially on Twitter.

Well, if the OP doesn't know the bigly words Trump used about it - that no POTUS has ever used in history - he's not going to learn now!!

BUT, this liberal has absolutely zero worries that he would step down if not re-elected. Zero. He will be escorted out by the proper authorities if he doesn't go. Of course, he is all talk and a coward anyway, so this is just more Trump falsehoods and fantasies - that his followers "wouldn't allow him" to leave the office.

Believe me, those "followers" from Central Florida won't be headed up to DC to protest.

Of course.

I posted up thread that this isn't a third world nation where that sort of thing happens. He'll be escorted out if needed and anyone being intellectually honest and non-partisan and is a rational actor will see that all of this "he won't leave" stuff is just over-heated rhetoric.

People need to calm the hell down here.
