Anybody who disliked Trump's July 4 speech deserves to have their patriotism questioned.
Patriotism is so overrated. No we don't have to worship a flag and the Pledge of Allegiance is actually creepy when you break down the prose meaning. In fact, if you are a practicing Christian, pledging allegiance to the flag would be against your religion since one is supposed to pledge allegiance to God, not fabric.
Considering how convinced we are about our own superiority, Americans are remarkably insecure when others don't share their constant adoration of the country. The US is a great nation. But we aren't the only great country, and we aren't even the greatest.
It was an excellent speech and program that the left will never get over. Their heads will never stop exploding and garbage will continue to spew from their mouths.
President Trump didn't name call, blame killery or mention collusion.
He supported our military and that is something that needs to be done every day, especially on National holidays
Michelle Obama was born in a poor section of Southside Chicago. As a black woman, and growing up, she was subject to discrimination in many ways. She, and many black people, most likely did wonder if the rights of the American dream really did apply to them. When her husband, Barak Obama, was elected President, it probably did feel like a change in America that made them more proud of their country, maybe for the first time.
If your ancestors had been slaves, maybe all you white people would have felt the same way.
Michell Obama’s book is wonderful—extremely readable and enjoyable. Try it, you will broaden your scope of life in America, and smile with her at some of the stories she tells in her book, “Becoming.”
" she was subject to discrimination in many ways"
You make the claim, YOU back it up.
" She, and many black people, most likely did wonder if the rights of the American dream really did apply to them"
The President wasn't elected by the majority of Americans in 2016. His favorability ratings stink for a reason. But these people still love their country. Just not the idiot in the WH.
"The President wasn't elected by the majority of Americans in 2016."
"Just not the idiot in the WH"
Just the idiots who keep whining and crying about it BUT, he was STILL INAUGURATED because we DO NOT use the popular vote. Don't like it, try to change it and good luck with THAT!
How does my response about tRump have anything to do with his predecessor? This has nothing to do with Obama and are not discussing him.
Oh, sorry. You are correct. Obama is irrelevant, done and gone, and discussing him brings back much pain for us all. But this is now, and the future looks bright with President Trump as our leader, who loves our country. Thank you for reminding me. I'm glad you enjoyed the Salute to America event.
Democrats handed the 4th of July to Trump. And he won.
Now they are as mad as hell about it because it's a disaster for them.
Airports in 1775 for the win!!!
Nobody is paying mind to that nonsense but the completely Trump deranged.
It's time for people to stop being giddy over every Trump slip. People don't care, and they are handing him victory in 2020 as surely as the protesters did Nixon in 1972.
I don't remember ANY president having a "Salute to America". Why would they?
Only THIS president has random pep rallies and jingoistic displays.
So sorry that you are sickened by this President's love of our country.
