The governor is begging for federal money. Should Trump do it? Frankly, the quake hit in a rural area and California politicians have a history of turning any money they get into their personal slush funds so I say no. Unless California agrees to cooperate with illegal immigration enforcement. Treat them like Mexico. No handouts. Must negotiate.
So the next time Texas or Florida have a hurricane, should we say screw 'em?
THIS is the kind of crap that will lose independents, when GOP politicians play politics with disaster relief funding and withhold or place restrictions on aid when it is needed in blue states. It's shameful, but we saw it with Hurricane Sandy.
I wouldn't be surprised if Trump tried to deny California aid. He's that kind of a petty tyrant. And his disgusting followers will cheer.

When has any Democrat ever attempted to withhold aid to a red state when they had a disaster? But the GOP tried to put conditions on aid to the Northeast following Hurricane Sandy, and Trump wanted to deny California relief for the fires. You only see that kind of despicable behavior on the right.

The quakes (both of them) hit in Ridgecrest, CA, not Los Angeles like so many are trying to say. Ridgecrest is in the Mojave Desert. I know this because this is where I lived when I was a kid in CA. This very town. This is where I went to grade school.
Granted, it has built up just a little more (mainly houses) than it was when I lived there.
Kern County already reported that there were no deaths, no major injuries, and no major collapses of buildings. So, no to federal funding.
What CA could do is take all of that money that they want to spend on healthcare for illegal aliens, and help out the residents of Ridgecrest and any surrounding areas that were affected.
As much as I dislike California, their liberal politics, and their dirtbag governor, if they truly needed emergency funds, give it to them.
Just make sure they have an itemized list of every nickel they spend. I wouldn't really trust that the funds would go where they were supposed to go.
