I like it there already. My nephew is an Austin cop. I go every year for the United States Grand Prix at COTA.

You’re trying too hard again. Statistics have nothing to do with why your state is unappealing to me.

Considering how much money is in that state, your poverty rate shouldn’t be so similar to ours, but it is. And we don’t have a drop of oil.

But even if there was no poverty whatsoever in Texas and our state was 100% poor, going from here to there would be a downgrade. That’s just the way it is.

I think Texas is better for me.

But when you take personal feelibgs out of it and look at data, Texas has Arizona beat.

I know that must be tough for you to swallow.

Could it be that Nike is building the facility without the taxpayer incentives? If that is the case, I applaud the Governor.

Why would it be tough for me to swallow? Again, my wife turned down an executive level federal position in DFW. I could’ve moved there and been on easy street. I wouldn’t even have to go to work. My wife could’ve easily taken care of everything. I could quit my job here and go back to freight brokering and do it from my Sleep Number Bed. It’d be even easier to do in Texas than here. My connections to Texas freight are still alive and well.

And still, the place isn’t up to my par or my wife’s either. It just isn’t. Austin is about the only livable place in the state.

DFW is too chaotic and lacks culture...plus the weather is lousy year round. San Antonio is better, but the weather is terrible. Houston is flat out miserable. Bad traffic, horrible weather, ridiculous sprawl, and lies in a perpetual hurricane zone. Forget Corpus or Galveston. Not even worth considering. And Odessa, Midland, Abilene, Amarillo or Waco? I wouldn’t sentence my worst enemy to those places.

So it is what it is. I’m glad that it’s good for you and others. It’s a disaster to me though.

Nope. They’re getting the incentives. Sorry.

No state incentive, only city incentives. https://www.azcentral.com/story/news...me/1708353001/ Governor kept his word.

Goodyear thumbed its nose at idiot 2AM-tweeting (sound familiar?) governance. When Ducey sobered up he realized what a dumb thing he had done. The commerce authority will quietly reverse its position and pitch in their million - mark my words.
