Tithing is part of the Old Testament so is part of Jewish faith. Jesus was a Jew, so he believed in tithing, giving 10% of your wealth to charity.

Render unto Ceasar what is Ceasars

Said in response to the question of whether it was legal for Jews to pay taxes to Ceasar. It was expected that Jesus would say it was wrong.

Jesus was a commie lib. Jesus hung out with tax collectors. What more proof do you need?

He hung out with everyone but the moneychangers. No hope for them.

He did say it was wrong IMO.

His followers were being tested to use their free will and own moral compass to determine what exactly was Caesar's and what was not...especially after the tax rates had exploded.

Don't forget your Luke 23:1-4 either - "We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king." It was the charge against Jesus before Pontius Pilot.

He did this in John 8:7 as well when he told his followers that the man among them without sin could cast the first stone to punish the adulteress. A little more direct but the lesson is clear.

Jesus was playing chess. The statists were playing checkers, bro.

They tried to trap him with that question and he got out of it pretty smoothly. He never said if Caesar is owed anything or not.

No, he specifically used a coin with Ceasars picture on it.

He didn't oppose taxes.......that was the accusation.

10 The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there, vehemently accusing him.

Pilate found him guilty of nothing.

That wasn't even the question. The question was "Is it legal for Jews to pay taxes".

He asked who was pictured on the coin (It was Caesar). He said to render unto Ceasar what is Ceasars.

Pilate was unable to find him guilty of telling people to not pay taxes.

Jesus was a Capricorn
He ate organic food
He believed in love and peace
And never wore no shoes
Long hair, beard and sandals
And a funky bunch of friends
Reckon we'd just nail him up
If he came down again

Thank you Kris
