The folks over at PragerU are terrified of the word “socialism” and they’ve gone as far as to say that Jesus Christ himself was definitely not a socialist but instead was a full on free market capitalist. This is an absolutely ridiculous claim, even when they try to give us examples from the Bible with their own unique, reality-warping spin on them.

Just how dumbed-down, twisted and corrupt is The USA becoming because of the gullibility and malleability on the right?

I find it hilarious the interpretations the spin docs put on the bible, using that spin to justify all sorts of crap. Jesus would be rolling over in his grave if he could see how his name is being used.

Jesus was a lunatic who thought he was God, assuming that the four gospel accounts are an accurate record of his teachings. I don’t think he was much of a political philosopher.

I'm pretty sure Jesus was Liberal, feeding the poor, turning the other cheek, etc. Now Mohammad, a childing raping Slavery is preferred by people these days who call themselves Liberal...

I did listen to the video; the 'ring of fire' guy (mr. shaved head) is way too wordy and desperately needs an editor.

It's a stupid debate. Jesus was neither capitalist nor socialist--'"'Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's...." Thanks OP, for a waste of 8 minutes.

Well, he was wrongfully accused, found guilty, and killed by the State.

Doesn't bode well for you folks...now does it?

I won't say he was a free market capitalist, but he also didn't preach the idea of taking your neighbors stuff by force to redistribute...he preached about doing good works in your own daily life.

If you believe the Bible, Jesus most certainly did talk about sharing what you have with the less fortunate, taking care of one another, taking care of the stranger who shows up in your land, ...

As for free-market capitalism, Jesus ran the money-changers, i.e. free market capitalists, out of the temple.

Good grief, what Bible are these people reading?
