I've been saying this for a while now, surely surely some democratic strategist is going to pull their head out of their ass and start shifting back to the center if they want to win in 2020.

I'm not panicking. The GOP has the biggest, smelliest albatross hanging around their neck sitting in the White House right now. His disapproval numbers have been underwater from the moment he stepped into the Oval Office and they have only gotten worse in the ensuing two and a half years.

The GOP is who ought to be panicking. He will be a much bigger influence in the coming election than two freshmen representatives.

Thats the whole point. This should be a gimme for the Dems and they are likely going to nominate someone that purple voters will not vote for.

The 2020 election will be decided by the center. They're aren't enough bigots and bible thumpers to put Trump over the top. They're aren't enough socialists to put a Warren or a Sanders over the top. If the Dems nominate a lefty like Warren or Sanders, moderates and anti-Trump independents like myself will stay home or vote third party.

by the time they realize how far into the leftward ditch they've travelled it will be too late

the next time leftists howl when someone starts another ocrazio-cortex thread, show them this.

Top Democrats are circulating a poll showing that one of the House's most progressive members — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — has become a definitional face for the party with a crucial group of swing voters.
