He doesn't interpret the law. They determine if the persons application qualifies them for asylum.

False. Many such asylum applicants are ruled ineligible for asylum and have court-ordered deportation adjudications on file against them. That's exactly who ICE is rounding up and deporting in the immigration enforcements begun this past weekend.

Nope. There's already legal precedent.

The coverage I saw of the ICE deportation was spun in such a way that it was as if ICE was busting down doors and dragging innocent women and children out on the street.

These were people that system said had to leave the country and they ignored those orders. ICE is doing what they are supposed to do.

The media and how they spin a story is so disingenuous at times.

The spin is that this is somehow different than what we have been doing for decades. How has that worked?

Great to see a president finally showing some leadership to address this broken system. We finally have an approach that is humane to asylum seekers (this will keep them from our inhumane "concentration camps"), and, more importantly, protect American citizens from the flood of often illiterate, unskilled asylum seekers flooding our country. And last but not least-it protects the taxpayer from the need to provide for this flood of "caravaners".
There is one flaw though if Mexico or any other countries that they pass through refuses them asylum they can continue on up to our country and still make an asylum claim here. I would imagine that in many cases Mexico, etc. will refuse them asylum so we are back to square one unless they are forced to wait in Mexico for their cases to be heard. Mexico offered them asylum when the caravans first started marching through their country but as a continued policy I doubt they would go along with this.
