By now, we are used to Trump’s big-lie technique. Even by that standard, however, the claim that “we are working harder than many previous Administrations, maybe almost all of them,” on environmental protection will be believed by exactly no one for whom words have not yet lost their common-sense meaning.
By all accounts, it was the President’s pollsters who insisted on this strange talk, because they are desperately afraid that they are losing those independents (particularly women) who have come to fear the physical future that climate change is imposing.
Well, if you believe Trump when he says they are working harder than any administration before them on the environment, you’ll believe anything this man says. I’m not sure even his own base could believe that whopper.

They don't, but they also don't care about the environment. They believe we are living in the End Times and God is going to destroy the planet by fire soon anyways, so there's little benefit in protecting or preserving the environment.
Right - anyone who would listen to him about the environment would also allow their teens to be babysat by him and invest their life savings in his Casinos also.....

Why Donald Trump Suddenly Decided to Talk About the Environment
Here's why:
No doubt his advisors have informed him that the environment will be a crucial issue in next year's election and he's on the wrong side of it.
So, he'll make up a few lies in a feeble effort to mask the fact that his EPA chiefs have been fossil fuel corporatists who have gutted regulations.
Anyone with a pulse recalls what a corrupt d-bag Scott Pruitt was and how he was forced to resign in disgrace.
His replacement, Andrew Wheeler, is not an upgrade.
"From 2009 until 2017, Wheeler was a lobbyist in the law firm Faegre Baker Daniels' energy and natural resources practice.[18][19] Since 2009, he represented the coal producerMurray Energy,[20] privately owned by Robert E. Murray, a supporter of President Trump.[21] Murray Energy was Wheeler's best-paying client, paying more than $300,000 during the period 2009-2017.[3] Wheeler lobbied against the Obama administration's climate regulations for power plants and also sought to persuade the Energy Department to subsidize coal plants.[2] Wheeler set up a meeting between Murray and Energy Secretary Rick Perry in March 2017; at the meeting, Murray advocated for the rollback of environmental regulations and for protections for the coal industry."
I'm prepared to believe Trump is one of, of not the, worst environmental president of recent times.
But I have yet to see ANY proof.
