What about Libertarians, the 3rd major political party here?
Current political power ensures that an actual "tolerant" party that is driven by freedom and policy, more than "sides"will be kept out of the fray for as long as possible.
I am curious as to how a Libertarian would fit into this poll?
Well libertarians tend to be a live and let live ideology for the most part. They basically ignore others as long as others aren't trying to trespass against them. The true libertarians that I know are also a bit of social Darwinists.
Obvious the left is more tolerant of....pot smoking...and the freedom of your own mind.
The Right is more tolerant of the KKK and of Hate Speech.
And so on. Stupid poll.....
Opposing views? The right would be more tolerant of the "opposing view" of making American white again. The Left would be more tolerant of most any and all peaceful human beings.
The Right would be tolerant of allowing people to die younger due to bad medical care...and so on.
As for cases of conservatives attacking Liberals on the street, either verbally or physically, I couldn't find any cases on the internet - though I'm sure there are a few crazies among the nation's 115,000 conservatives. However, as a general rule, Democrats the party of Violent Hate, while Republicans are the party of calm and rational discourse.

I have good friends that are both Dems and GOPer, none are way too extreme on either side, all are very successful..I can honestly say that the GOP friends are way more laid back, less political, more fun to be around easy going and dont give a ****. Some of my Dem friends get worked up pretty easy, more negative, more outspoken.
At some point the tables were turned and now the Right is the perpetual victim of everything possible, - the media, Dems, immigrants, gays, blacks, latinos, NATO, EU, UN, women, muslims etc. You name it, and the Right will claim to be their victims.
It is not the matter of who is more tolerant, when one side perpetually plays the victim card and screams intolerance it you just looks at them let alone try to talk to them.
