I see someone with a long track record of lousy choices.
He's responsible for his decisions.

The city is responsible for the actions of their police force.

Then why on Earth bring up neck/face tattoos?

I have a full sleeve on my right arm, and my left leg is sleeved from the knee to the ankle. I'm an IT project manager for an international software company - a customer facing position. I promise you I don't look like a "psycho" or a "thug".

I guess nowawdays if you defend yourself or don't accept excessive use of force passively then you are resisting arrest. Nobody deserves to die for selling cigarettes. The chokehold was poor judgement, and a contributor to an undeserved death. That alone should result in the firing of the officer (just like shooting a kid with a BB gun did for that officer).

They should have simply handed him a paper ticket and walked away.

Amazing that so many people think like this.

It's not "right", but out on the street, in the middle of your arrest is not the safest time to try to prove your point.

You can't say "I told you so/I was right", or spend any settlement money, if you're dead.

A ticket for what? He wasn't doing anything.

If it's not right, we all need to demand it stop.

Agreed. That's pretty much what I said.

That demand coming in the middle of the arrest is a bad idea, IMO, however.

As long as you're not a cop I don't care if you have tattoos on your eyeballs.
