Still.................they did not even try. And why not? Because, they knew Eric and did not care? Reminds me of the people trying for a new life at the southern border..................they are humans, just because you may not like them, they are human beings, someone's child, mother, brother, sister. Why is this forgotten, so many times?

So, because Eric had asthma, it's ok that he died? I have a relative that just passed away, recently. He had asthma and lived to be 83................Eric, should have been given a chance. Trying to tell that mob of cops that he could not breathe, should have been a huge clue. Were they afraid of something? sickening. Maybe, those cops and first responders need to find another line of work. Complacent?

Cite, please. NYC has different EMTs to respond to calls for injury vs. calls for other medical emergencies?

"About four minutes into the video, EMS workers arrived but provided little emergency aid to Garner. The camera panned to other officers, who continued to stand around and stare at a lifeless Garner."
Do you see the inconsistency here. First instead of calling an ambulance they searched his pockets. But somehow 4 minutes into the video EMS workers arrive.

Maybe I am wrong here EMS workers don't come with an ambulance?

They rendered aid by calling an ambulance. They cannot give him a triple bypass surgery. They are not trained to, nor are they required to.

And again, they are not medical doctors or EMT; they cannot conclude that he is "dying."

And no they are not required to give him mouth to mouth resuscitation.

THey are not responsible for his previous health conditions and problems that led up to his death.

First lets note that the medical center sent out to assist Garner also paid out a $1 million dollar settlement.

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/24/n...1-million.html

When the fire department took over operation of the city’s ambulances and the dispatching of both public and private ambulances, a goal was set of responding to 90 percent of serious medical emergencies with an Advanced Life Support ambulance staffed with paramedics in 10 minutes or less.

https://ibo.nyc.ny.us/iboreports/ems2013.html

The ALS unit was not sent out, and EMS unit was because the officer had called it in as an accident, not as someone dying.

Maybe not, but they are definitely responsible for exacerbating the problem, that led up to his death.

Please do your due diligence, apply the same effort, and show us a link that says that officers are qualified and should be able to determine when someone without any external serious physical injuries is "dying."

We'll wait.

No he was responsible for that as well. He doesn't have the right to resist arrest.

That is pathetic and unbelievable that some of those cops actually searched his pockets after he was already dead!!!
