I think if it WERE a hoax it would've been much more obvious. If you look at the photos, the rope is hanging on the side of the aisle about 2 feet from the ground.

ETA: The sisters are TICKED OFF that the mgr wouldn't get the video tape and check. I mean, even if they found the person tying the knot, it's not criminal. What the heck do they expect to happen?
Someone gets arrested, charged, convicted and remanded to jail for 50 years for committing a "hate crime".
Oh and give the sisters a few million because of their mental anguish.

Before I retired, I worked in a powerplant with lots of technicians, electricians, mechanics, engineers, etc. When any of these folks took a break, if there was a piece of rope lying around, I can guarantee you, someone would pick it up and make a noose. Its just a time waster.

That's what you have to ask yourself. Why I am being shown this and who decided this was "news" in the first place?

Is it a crime against natural law to tie a noose?

Also, if these are the 'smart folks' I'd love to see who's considered stupid in Delaware.
If they are stupid enough to "nail" up a screen door, I doubt she can identify an "expertly tied" noose. Poor mama.

Anyway, a relative was hung for theft years ago. He stole. That was the punishment of the time. Doesn't trigger me.

What does this tender gal do at Halloween?

I read that article to find out if they worked in the store. They didn't. They just walked in as customers. It would take considerable time to tie the rope that way, into a noose, and I doubt an employee saw them walk in and quickly made a noose to scare them. I think it should be investigated though, as a potential safety hazard. I can see how if someone left a noose on their doorstep, that would be threatening. But this was not intended as a threat.
