After Alex Jones pwned Sundar Pichai on Capital Hill, Google was accused of sleeping with the enemy again this week when tech billionaire Peter Thiel called on the CIA and FBI to probe the search engine for its “seemingly treasonous” ties with China.
Thiel, a venture capitalist and member of President Trump’s White House transition team, suggested in a speech Sunday that the tech juggernaut has been actively working with the Chinese military — and that top management has become a hotbed for Chinese spies.

Spying on the US Government.....

Alex did great until money and fame killed his credibility. Lol..its called the web...its full of spiders..but then America is Orwell's 1984 on steroids and speed. The World has become a massive Surveillance State. All search engines and social media sites are infested, all cell phones are infested...have been. We bought into all the technology now we are addicted they knew we wouldnow we are caught in their "web". Knowledge is power and their is much on their web..use it while you can and use it on the spiders..

Agree. AJ has almost no credibility but google and amazon....I don’t know. Could be some interesting if not scary times ahead. Is it too late to break these companies up? Do they have too much influence in Congress (aka money in pockets) for this to ever happen?

All I ever saw was accusation that Google does business with China. I never understood how that was treasonous.

What are our alternatives to Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.? Should each of us completely stop using their high speed communications and social media platforms? What are the alternatives and what will prevent any smaller alternative from doing the exact same thing as the high tech monsters we have now?

I understand the frustration. I understand the concern. When having an Alexa device in your home could mean having it call law enforcement if it thinks something illegal is happening in your house, what are the alternatives? I already have every camera covered with a tiny piece of post it note if it is located in electronic devices, including my phone, TV, computer, etc. I have also physically disconnected all microphones except the one in my cell phone. I've even cut the GPS antenna out in every electronic device I own including in my cell phone. I even go as far as to remove my cell phone's battery and sim card when I want to go somewhere I don't want to be tracked. I use a special wallet that prevents my cards from being read without physical entry into my wallet and if I want to be super stealth that wallet and phone stay locked in my little RFI shielded safe. My vehicles have the factory GPS disabled and use after factory GPS, but again, if I want to go stealth, I use one of my older vehicles with none of that tracking and I use cash.

So what are our alternatives to these high tech monsters that tell us they will violate our privacy in the agreements they force us to agree to before we can use their products?

I watched clips of testimony where some google exec admitted to helping the Chinese but not the US military while some general sat there and listened, looking like he was ready to explode.
