White working class Democrats still exist......but are slowly dying.

A majority of them left the Democrats in the 1960s because of The Civil Rights Act of 1964 with black people.

Black people started voting Democratic, and became a Democratic voting bloc.

Reagan Democrats, who were probably in their 30s and 40s in swing state Michigan, Ohio, are dying now or aging Republicans now, or dying conservative Democrats.

A majority of white working class Democrats supported Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton in 1992, he was a product of the white working class, Clinton's centrist Third Way strategy in 1992 and 1996 held white working class voters together with minorities; a lot of them deserted the Dems in 1994 for Newt Gingrich and Tom DeLay's Contract with America, by 1994, a majority of the South became fully Republican and culturally conservative; in the 2002 midterms, it cemented further; the post-9/11 climate (on to today), it cemented further.

A few white working class Democrats came back to the party in 2006, 2008, 2012, and some of them, a sliver of them, in 2018 (Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania governorships)

Did the WWC leave the Democratic Party, or did the Democratic Party leave the WWC?

Bernie Sanders never left the WWC!

He has been talking about their rights, pay, worker protection, stopping outsourcing, etc etc etc for 30+ years!

but they keep calling him a Socialist for trying to give the American worker a better deal in life.

But the Identity Politics wing of the Democratic Party doesn't like Bernie because he is a white man.

You posted the wrong link. That link doesn't match the headline or the OP.

The collapse of the American middle class happened in the 80s..
Regan - privatised, outsourced, busted unions, cut taxes, cut funding for higher Ed
Bush Sr - continued the practice
Clinton - balanced the budget... but go a BJ in the Whitehouse.
Busj jr - Invaded an innocent country, killed millions in the Middle East, wasted $Trillions on a fake war, deregulated WS and oversaw the largest economic collapse in US history since The Great Depression.
Obama - Tried to fix the mess while Republicans where doing everything they could to stop the recovery.

Yes, Democrats have controlled the White House for 70 of the last 100 years.... but the last 40 years, since Reagan, Republican Presidents has done SO much damage to the average American worker!!

Wage stagnation for 40 years!
Healthcare costs exploded.
Pharm costs exploded.
Education costs exploded.
Unions busted.
Workers rights stripped.
Offshoring most of the US heavy industry... and everything that supported it.
Tax cuts after tax cuts.. while never being able to balance the budget.

Surely you are not claiming these are Democratic ideals or policies?

No... Republicans!
