It goes both ways.

A lot of these white Southern Republicans vote Republican because they are tired of hearing about how they have to give minorities something, race, etc.

It is a mixed bag.

Southern Democrats haven't tried to appeal to white Southerners on health care, etc.

Both parties need all demographics to win elections, but they Balkanize and tribalize in sectors to win.

Southern White Democrats still do exist---but like I said yesterday, they are a dying breed.

West Virginia is like this to some degree, although not nearly as much as it was ten or more years ago.

That’s if you consider WV to be the South. Northern say we’re the South, Southerners say we’re the North.
