By catering to a disappearing demographic, the GOP has sealed its fate.
Wrong. All these young people will eventually start to make money.

Voting liberal is easy when you're broke. All the free stuff sounds just great.

Then when you start making money and the more you make, the more the government takes.

Republicans aren't going anywhere, hate to break it to ya.

Overall, Gen Z leans 34% Trump, 20% Clinton.

52% of Gen Z prefer nationalism to globalism. https://marketresearchfoundation.org...-conservative/

Those "major changes" that are coming are likely going to make this country more conservative. Sounds good!
Nope. Your source was from one study by a right wing source prior to the 2016 election. That poll proved less accurate than other ones that conservatives still laugh at. It is totally contradicted by a larger study by Pew Research that occurred after the 2016 election when there was much more data to review what actually happened in 2016. The Pew Report is from January 2019.

Thus far, Gen Z looks a lot like the Millennials.

That light you see in the tunnel is most likely an oncoming train.

Quote:
On a range of issues, from Donald Trump’s presidency to the role of government to racial equality and climate change, the views of Gen Z – those ages 13 to 21 in 2018 – mirror those of Millennials. In each of these realms, the two younger generations hold views that differ significantly from those of their older counterparts. In most cases, members of the Silent Generation are at the opposite end, and Baby Boomers and Gen Xers fall in between.
Quote:
Only about three-in-ten Gen Zers and Millennials (30% and 29%, respectively) approve of the way Donald Trump is handling his job as president. This compares with 38% of Gen Xers, 43% of Boomers and 54% of Silents. Similarly, while majorities in Gen Z and the Millennial generation say government should do more to solve problems, rather than that government is doing too many things better left to businesses and individuals, Gen Xers and Boomers are more evenly divided on this issue. For their part, most Silents would like to see a less activist government.
Heritage Foundation is rated as an extremely biased Conservative source, whereas the non-Partisan Pew Foundation is considered to be non-biased by sources that I’m sure that you will consider to be biased, but here goes.

You've got your head in the sand. Demographics is everything, and Republican voters aren't going to magically spring up from the well that's consistently being filled with non-white immigration.

When the country tips to a 50% white population (by design, not naturally mind you), the republican party will become completely irrelevant in the face of permanent democratic majority - or it will have to make massive policy swings to the left.

Edit: Look to Texas and Florida to be turning blue if not in 2020 then permanently by 2024 due to demographic change. There's only two options - Republicans double down on supporting their white voter base and risk being called racist, or they try to become "democrat light" and lose white support plus fail to win over non-whites who have a better home in the democratic party.

It's extremely difficult to be confident about the future of the republican party unless you're truly blind to what's happening.

Republicans are all talk about this anyway. They had two years when they could have passed mandatory E-Verify with significant employer penalties. Nary a peep.

Republicans want to stir up their ignorant base about the evils of brown skinned people, but they don't actually want to do anything about immigration.

This, of course, is not lost on those who are able to think.
Nothing in this post is evidence of thinking.

One big reason...they are dying off and not being replaced. The younger generation has a totally different mindset and a different cultural view. They will never become republicans en masse. That whole racist thing will never fly with them. They are part of the biracial generation.

Be careful what you wish for ... we all see the success of liberal malfeasance ... San Francisco and Seattle have become hellholes.

Or perhaps youd prefer it if the United States became Guatemala, or maybe Venezuela? Maybe, Indonesia, or better yet, maybe it would better reflect the new progressives in congress if we espoused to become the great nation of Somalia!!! Yeah, thats the ticket, The United States of Somalia! A liberal paradise, free of this majority of oppressive white devils.

Of course, given the comparatively smaller size of Somalia, and their inability to properly feed themselves, Im not sure youd wind up liking the change, but youd damn sure deserve it!

Nice boomer posting. But you've misread my position.

I'm trying to warn naive republicans that their way of life is dependent on demographics. And until we're willing and able to stop the illegal invasion occurring daily on our southern border, while at the same time admitting 1+ million legal immigrants, your party is going to die a slow (or quick) death.

This is what happens to the brain overdosed on CNN.

Youre losing large segments of traditional democrat voters .... thats why the dems want open borders ... thats their only hope if survival .... uneducated foreigners who have never experienced anything better than 3rd world standards. To many, indoor plumbing, and water safe to drink is a huge upgrade

2016 Republicans won the Presidency, the House, and the Senate.

But my head is in the sand?

And it's simple logic. The same exact thing happened with my generation. We were all liberal college age (not me) but now that we have made a little money and see how the government wastes it, um sorry, many of us vote conservative.

I'm not working to support all the deadbeats in this country. Pigs will fly out of my ears before the state of Tennessee ever turns blue. We like our 47/50 ranking in total tax burden, no state income tax, and how our state is #1 for overall fiscal condition.

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-sta...scal-stability

You have your head in the sand if you think there isn't a huge demographic of other people, too, who feel the same way.
