It's always interesting watching people who support stripping away rights from LGBT community feign outage on their behalf. Who are you trying to convince?

It means abandoning the goal of using politics to build a better society for all, and instead focusing only on more power and stuff for people like yourself.

And the double standard could not be any more clear. Pressley can say, “We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. We don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice. We don’t need Muslims that don’t want to be a Muslim voice. We don’t need queers that don’t want to be a ***** voice”, and the response is "You go girl!", while the reaction to any similar talk from a white pol about white faces and voices would be gasps of outrage.

If we lived in an equal world that was black and white, you would have a point, but we both know gay pride and white pride dont mean the same thing. And I find it intellectually dishonest to even try and pretend that they do.

Her statement, while not as elegant, is no different than the argument MLK made about black and white people who stand by and allow injustice to happen.

If have no problem with people who disagree with MLF or anyone else on that front, but if you were fine with him saying it and understand the nuance, then you should also get it when Rep. Pressley says it.

I'm still waiting for one, just ONE, ID politics apologist to defend the above as not being racist. What she's saying is that thought (voice) should be a function of skin color. If you're black you've got to think one way; if brown another; and so on. How is that not racist? To say that thought is, or at least should be, a function of skin color could actually serve as a pretty good working definition of 'racism.'

She doesn't want people of color or LGBTQ to think for themselves or have their own opinions. She wants to keep them on the "democratic plantation".

Just like they call Justice Clarence Thomas and HUD secretary Ben Carson "uncle Toms". Because these guys "dare" to think for themselves. Same with Condoleeza Rice, Thomas Sowell, etc...

Probably so. These people, if they can't defend, they go into ignore mode. Or sometimes they will just spew a bunch of gibberish that's impossible to respond to. In other words, wild goose chase mode.

***** is not a derogatory term when speaking about LGBTQ people. It is literally what the Q stands for.
