One of the leading candidates for President, Senator Kamala Harris, was asked in a CNN Interview on Tuesday how she would pay for her Medicare For All plan. Experts say it will cost 40 Trillion Dollars over ten years. Her answer of course that Wall Street will pay for it. When pushed about a middle-class tax to pay for the cost, she rejected that by saying the middle class is paying enough taxes.

So, great, we get free health care and the Wall Street Fat Cats will pay for it! Click on link below for the CNN interview.

Do you believe that if we put a high tax on Wall Street Fat Cats we could pay for Medicare For All?

If Democrats actually believed the middle class were paying enough taxes, I might vote for them.
They don’t. They believe Middle class Americans (especially whites) are too well off and should be forced to give up their wealth to poor Americans and the rest of the world.

First of all, that $30-40 trillion is over 10 years. It's only about $3 trillion per year.

On average, companies pay about $5200 for single person's health insurance or $12,500 for a family

158 million Americans get health insurance through their employers.

Thus the corporate cost of employees health care today is between $1 and $2 trillion. If they pay the same amount into Medicare instead, that would cover most of the cost right there without any net increase in cost to corporations. Maybe rolling back some of the recent tax cuts could cover the rest.

Personally, I prefer to keep private insurance and offer Medicare for all as an additional option. But I can't let that $40T price tag go without pointing out that is a 10-year cost.
