The article below asserts that the desire to ban abortion stems primarily from fear over the decreasing white population. We have seen countless articles speaking about the decline of the non-Hispanic white population in the US. So does anyone believe the banning of abortion is an attempt to increase the white population? Or do you believe it is primarily a religious issue?
I believe the debate is primarily a religious one and raises separation of church and state issues. But perhaps that’s not the root of the matter...thoughts on the article/issue?

One motivation for US conservatives’ opposition to abortion – “a woman’s right to choose” – as stated by demographer Ben Wattenberg (in his increasingly neoconservative later years, after the 1970s), and cited by the wonderful educator, Jane Elliott (“White Fear”, in her anti-racism teachings, is that white supremacists’ great fear is over demographic dilution.
American conservatives’ opposition to abortion is not primarily concerned with preventing Blacks, Latinos, minorities and the poor from procreating too many — and “too costly” to the public purse — non-white babies, but in fact to prevent white women from producing too few white babies. 60% of the 1.6 million abortions annually in the United States are for white women.
The banning of abortion was exactly the policy of the Nazi regime in Germany, when bounties were paid for high fertility by acceptably white – “Aryan” – women. The fertility rate of Whites in Europe, in the U.S.A., in South Africa, and in Israel with its captive and concentration-encamped Palestine, is the lowest of all ethnicities/races....

And whites are 73.3% of the US population. So yes, whites are "under-represented" in abortions, and minorities are "over-represented." Thus, abortion reduces minority populations relative to whites.

But 60% is still the majority. If those babies were born yearly, that would result in a significant boost for the white population. Just wondering if anyone really believes this has anything to do with the push to ban abortion or actually supports the ban for this reason.

That's a percentage of the total population. If you look at the median age of white females vs. females of color, you will see that white females are significantly older. That probably accounts for the difference in percentage that you see.

I would be curious to see how many of the women are Democrats. They probably would raise their kids as Democrats. Less left wing nut jobs running around.

As I said upthread, WOC are younger than white women, overall (info from James's source). Younger women are more likely to utilize abortion, as well as other reproductive services, regardless of color.
