For those who don't know, this is the definition of "cadillac tax". (I had to look it up.)

They were grossly unfair to working people who have good insurance through their employers. On the other hand, it means more deficit in years to come. They should have raised the tax rates on non-earned income to make up the difference (and more).

Democrats really, really don’t want Americans in private care. Unreal.

I am no fan of Democrats but I don't understand your post. Even the majority of Democrats voted to repeal this tax. Wonder who the 6 who didn't were?

I should have been more clear - my fault. The Democratic Presidential nominees do not want private care for Americans was what I meant to say. Put them in charge and we will see private care disappear completely.

Every politician is "on your side" until they get voted into office.

In case you haven't noticed big money runs the government these days.
And big money owns both parties.

I would guess the majority of voters really didn't know either....which is how we got stuck with Obamacare.

Now why would you think that ?
If those Democrats were really "for the people" and truly believed in Obamacare they would have made that 40% tax effective on the day Obamacare was signed. But they didn't and probably for the very reason we see here now...to get repealed sometime down the line like a lot of other ACA mandates that had dates far into the future when Americans would forget about them.

Tax the rich, tax the rich. And then quietly repeal that "tax the rich".
