It’s looking more and more like the endgame here for Trump—and the right-wing billionaires who support him and the GOP—is not just to get reelected, but to actually rewrite our Constitution and end the American experiment
Turns out, there’s an actual project to rewrite our Constitution, turning America into a corporate-run oligarchy.
They’d end the income tax, eliminate federal regulatory agencies like the EPA, end all labor protections (including laws against child labor), let states ignore anti-discrimination and other federal regulations, and impose term limits so the only “institutional memory” for legislatures will be the corporate lobbyists.
All it needs to succeed—within just a few short years—is for Trump and the GOP to win big in 2020. And the prospects of that happening are going up every day. With a big Trump win will come a rewrite of our Constitution itself, if the billionaires funding it have their way.
Rewriting the Constitution is a process that has written instructions in the Constitution itself.
For example, from the article, they list "oh no, they'll end the income tax." Well, the income tax was part of a rewrite of the Constitution called "the 16th Amendment." States used to choose their federal senators in the state legislature, but a rewrite changed that to a popular vote.
Amending and even wholesale changing the US Constitution is prescribed therein, in some detail. The people and the States have always had that power, they just haven't used it. Trump and the Koch brothers didn't add Article V to the Constitution, James Madison did. Take your issue up with him.
If 34 states call for it, and 38 states agree to it, the Constitution can indeed be rewritten in whatever form those 38 ratifying states agree to. Read the freaking document, because it spells that out quite clearly.
We re-wrote part of the Constitution to install PROHIBITION. Then we did it again to repeal it. So it is not only possible, but has been done in the past several times. Why doesn't the Left focus more on that instead of trying to illegally circumvent it all the time?

Lawmakers that want to break as many laws as they can get away with making a mockery of political office they were elected to.
The citizen is an after thought to democrats if thought of at all !!! Their concern is votes for power and if it comes from illegals they are fine with that !!! Every vote has to be counted they say !!! No distinction between legal or illegal !!! Just as they make no distinction between legal and illegal immigrants !!!

You must be a very unhappy man. To rewrite the Constitution you need a Constitutional Convention of the States. However, to your horror, most of the states are conservative, not liberal. Thus a new Constitution would be far more conservative than the current one and may upset you even more. Most of us, if this could happen, would have an amendment to put all liberals, muslim extremists, and America haters in re-education camps. You could join society again when you regained your sanity and were better.
Everyday you write about the imminent demise of Trump and how the good liberal fairies are going to come down and save you from all your torment and unhappiness.
Here is the bad news. Posting all your heartfelt dreams and wishes will not make them come true. You need to hunt for a magic lamp or send a text to your liberal fairy godmother.
