Omar actually DID have to pay the IRS several thousands of dollars in back taxes and penalties for fraudulently filing joint tax returns with a man while married to another man. AND she was found guilty of campaign finance fraud and had to pay restitution to her campaign.
Daily Mail is all over it, too. They got a copy of her marriage license for her second marriage, purportedly to her brother.
It’s interesting that her first marriage was a “Muslim faith marriage”, not legal in the US and without any license or divorce decree, yet when she married her second husband, purportedly her brother, they were married legally, with a Christian minister. What kind of Muslim does that?! A Muslim who needs a legal marriage performed in order to begin immigration proceedings is my best guess.
Ilhan Omar entered this country illegally (not her fault she was 12 years old at the time) in 1995. Her real name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi. The Elmis (her real family - a father and 5 children) who lived in a Kenyan refuge camp, split up in 1995. Her 3 siblings (Leila Nur Said Elmi, Mohamed Nur Said Elmi, and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi) were given asylum in the UK and eventually got UK citizenship. The Omars, (an unrelated family that was being given asylum in the US) allowed Ilhan's father, her sister Sahra and Ilhan to use false names and apply for asylum as part of their family.
You can read the rest of the story here where all of the proof is laid out for you in the sequence of it happening when she was an adult here:
If she's smart, she sure doesn't show it as she left a big legal paper trail and social media postings (which she subsequently deleted) that make the case against her.
The bottom line is she perjured herself 8 times (documentation exists - see link above) and Minnesota law allows up to 5 years in prison for each time she did it. But she could also be in trouble for federal tax fraud, student loan fraud, immigration fraud and marriage fraud.
I think the person who may not finish their term is her...that is, if the law is applied fairly.
If the law was applied fairly, Melania would have been deported for working here illegally and obtaining a suspect green card. The Trump Org and its myriad subsidiaries would have been fined many times over for hiring illegal workers.
That and she may get deported because she lied her way to citizenship.
She was a minor when she came over. Nobody will hold that against her. Her potential trouble stems from whether or not she married her brother so he could gain citizenship.

Deflection. No one is going to punish Ilhan for illegal immigration. She was 12. It's what she did as an adult for which she'll be in trouble. She better start thinking up something better than "racist."
