wow. even leftie Thomas Friedman canít believe how far left the dem candidates have gone.

Quote:
Iím struck at how many people have come up to me recently and said, ďTrumpís going to get re-elected, isnít he?Ē And in each case, when I drilled down to ask why, I bumped into the Democratic presidential debates in June. I think a lot of Americans were shocked by some of the things they heard there. I was.

I was shocked that so many candidates in the party whose nominee I was planning to support want to get rid of the private health insurance covering some 250 million Americans and have ďMedicare for allĒ instead. I think we should strengthen Obamacare and eventually add a public option.

I was shocked that so many were ready to decriminalize illegal entry into our country. I think people should have to ring the doorbell before they enter my house or my country.

I was shocked at all those hands raised in support of providing comprehensive health coverage to undocumented immigrants. I think promises weíve made to our fellow Americans should take priority, like to veterans in need of better health care.

Also Kevin Drum:
Quote:
I have previously criticized Republicans who accused liberals of wanting ďopen borders.Ē President Trump tweets about this endlessly. But I have to admit that itís hard to see much daylight between Warrenís plan and de facto open borders. As near as I can tell, CBP will be retasked away from patrolling the border looking for illegal crossings; if border officers happen to apprehend someone, theyíll be released almost immediately; if they bother to show up for their court date, theyíll have a lawyer appointed for them; and employers will have no particular reason to fear giving them a job.
Am I missing something here? Does Warrenís plan explicitly make it vanishingly unlikely that anyone crossing our border will ever be caught and sent back?

Well look at their platform:

Free college for the young voters
Reparations for Black and Indian voters
Open borders for the Hispanic voters
They don't care about the Asian voters
White people are taboo and don't deserve anything

And Medicare for all using the soon to be bankrupt medicare system while not mentioning the $30 trillion start up cost that will balloon to $56 trillion.

And of course..."the rich will pay for it".

Lot of time on the clock. We can't pop the champagne yet. Yes, if the election were held today, he would get about 47% of the vote and it would be another electoral beating.

However, the *******s have...err...woke to the fact that they went too far in the debate, and are well aware that America does not support the ***** squad.

They have a lot of time to right their ship. Which is pretty much what the Friedman article was about.

If the Democrats neutralize the B--ch Quartet*, they will keep voters from walking away.

Now that Republican White people saw that their vote actually makes a difference, they're going to vote even harder in 2020.

As ideologically opposed as I am to the Democratic party, a good amount of its'
constituents still believe in some measure of reason and sense. The current "face" of the party is the B--ch Quartet and, those Alzheimer's patients, Pelosi and Feinstein, and it is intellectually bankrupt.

*(Ilhan Omar, Rashida Talib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and, Linda Sarsour, in the extreme case that you didn't already know)
