If a member of Minority Group A is allowed to be liberal, Democratic, or Left-leaning, then a member of Minority Group B is allowed to be conservative, Republican, or Right-leaning. Concerning sociopolitical issues, both members will will be subjected to criticisms from people on the opposite side and even fellow members from the same side.

I'm dizzy just watching that.

I think the Democratic party is actually losing ground here among Asians. They rammed through a bill to bring back affirmative action in college admissions, which of course would have been detrimental for Asian applicants.

There was a massive turnout at a state legislative hearing on this earlier this year. Reportedly about 80-90 percent of the crowd were Asian.

I have never understood why most Asian Americans are not conservatives. They have all the characteristics of conservatives and libertarians:

-highest median incomes of all ethnic groups so they pay a ton of taxes, why would they want to vote for liberals to pay more taxes?
-they have a lot of personal responsibility, they are self starters - don't act like "victims"
-they have the lowest welfare participation rates of all races (liberals tend to want a bigger welfare state)
-they are hurt disproportionately by liberal affirmative affirmative action race based college admissions
-they have the lowest crime rates and incarceration rates of all racial groups

What do they possibly have in common with liberal socialists? Who would want to take more of their hard earned money and have it re-distributed to those who didn't work for it?

Stop generalizing! I haven't been a Democrat for many decades. And the more Dems want to give reparations to blacks or push socialism on the country, the less support they will have from Asian Americans.

IMO most of us don't consider ourselves to be part of the "people of colour" group. Except for having an sh*tty initial arrival to America, we have nothing at all in common with blacks and Hispanics. We aren't interested in reparations or Government handouts. We just want to maintain the great traditional American formula of hard work = success.

And yes, those Korean shop owners during the LA Riots are my heroes!!!

Keep America great!!!!

Many young Asian Americans (especially men) hate white people.

Sorry to be blunt, but that might be one reason why Asian Americans don't vote Republican.

They can hate these "white people" all they want. But conservatism has nothing to do with race (but the left wing socialists of course like to "brand" it that way). Conservationism is about:

-low taxes - you can make better decisions about how to spend your money then big gov't
-smaller gov't - the private sector can do it better then giant gov't bureaucracies can
-smart regulation
-personal responsibility - I can take care of myself and my family - I don't need a giant state bureaucracy to do it all for me and I don't need welfare
-etc....

Asians will get tired of paying most of their incomes they work hard for in taxes to get re-distributed by the big gov't. And they will get tired of having to get much better grades and SAT scores to get into the same elite universities as other races. Affirmative action and high taxes are liberal ideas.

Not true, itís often conservative, white, racist people that hate Asians. If someone doesnít speak perfect English they will often endure derogatory comments from these hateful types!

Only if they sell out for $$ or harden due to how life treated them. The young at heart stay open minded.

This is true among most all of my friends and family.

Also, when people hit a certain age they are more subject to brainwashing from 24/7/365 hate radio and fake news. Older people (70+) often have "faith" that things printed or broadcast must be true or they couldn't say them. That's why they are great targets for Billionaire Hate Stations.

If we look at some of the wealthiest folks in the country - my guess is they lean moderate or liberal. A LOT of them.....

That seems to dispute your theory. Buffet is a liberal, Bill Gates would be consider left by the current setup of the US Body Politic. 90% of the Silicon Valley billionaires are liberal or moderate.

It's interesting how the number of liberals seems to change depending on the issue. When immigration is spoke of, we hear that - all of a sudden - it must be Democrats that own meat packing plants, big construction companies in the south and the like....this is because the truth, of course, is that the businesses that hire illegals are bound to slant quite far right (statistically....).

The money which is more moderate or on the left (Silicon Valley, Boston, Buffet, Pacific NW), in general, employs legal workers...and also provide more living wages, pay their taxes, etc.

Most things in the world are the opposite of what they seem - especially this type of setup. In many ways Texas and Florida as still a "Plantation Economy" with the low wages and large number of illegals needed to prop up the take of the owners of certain Business segments. This serves those states the double benefit of keeping wages low for the legal workers...keeping them all in their place.

Simply is not true. Unless you claim that it's coincidence that every rally and the Republican Convention are usually a "sea of white".......

Statistics are your friend. You are sitting there denying what has been carefully measured. No one disagrees on this.....

It's Republicans and "conservatives" that have branded themselves....generally the "White men with means...or that want means from selling out" party.

"Non-college whites have had double-digit preference for GOP since 2010
GOP advantage among this group has expanded to 25 points in 2019
Whites with college degrees now favor Democratic Party by 10 points"

We could be very specific by saying that the Conservative base (not the pols who manipulate them) are less educated whites.....both male and female, but more male. Throw in Fundamentalists and a couple other groups and you get there....
