First of all in terms of love it or leave it, it's not the 1960's, it's 2019.

I wouldn't tell MLK to love it or leave it, but I might call him a sexual predator. If the "me too" movement was around back then we might not be talking about MLK. Have you read the new essay by long time MLK biographer out about MLK and the FBI tapes? Apparently from the tape transcripts he stood by and watched a gang rape in a hotel room being done by other preachers and encouraged and cheered it on. As well as cheated on his wife non stop. Audio of tapes will be released in 2027.

MLK who was critical of America
MLK who thought racism was the core of America and White Americans
MLK who thought entire institutions of America should be brought down
MLK who was an avid Socialist and saw it as the fundamental change America needed to make

Soooo... MLK should have GTFO, right?
1. Republicans were the driving force behind civil rights. Democrats were the ones fighting against it.
2. Ilhan Omar is no MLK. In fact, comparing the two is an insult to MLK, his family, and every person who ever worked toward the cause of civil rights. MLK would have been the first one to tell her to shut her trap and let the adults have a conversation, most likely.

I find it comical that a group of people that have spent the past 3 years or so threatening to move out of the US are appalled by this. faux outrage much? me thinks so.

Attack his character when you can't make your point against the point being discussed.

Ad hominem logical fallacy

If MLK wanted to change our country into socialism I would say leave and go to Venezuela.
