1. Green Card lottery.
- 50.000 person from all over the world, chosen a bit on luck, but mostly on profession.

2. Work Visa
- Sponsored by a company. Huge hassle for most companies and costly.

3. Legal immigration
- From most other 1st world countries, that either have a good education or the means to create a company/workers.

4. Asylum
- People from war torn countries, religious persecution, drug wars in South America, slavery,

5. Marriage to US citizen or Family reunion
- Actual legal immigrant applies for their close family members to join them in the US, when they have the means to support them. Or marries a US citizen.

6. Work Visa over stays
- People getting a work visa, overstays on purpose, disappears into the crowd or marries trump.

7. Anchor babies
- People from other countries, traveling on some sort of Visa, knowingly pregnant to make sure their kids becomes a US Citizen.

8. Illegal immigration
- People that would not fit in any of the above, that crosses the border purposely avoiding point of entries, by walking, smuggled, mostly poor, trying to earn money in a stable country, and the people hired both by legal and illegally by companies to do work.

From what I understand.. most of the problems are #6, 7, 8.
I hope most Americans can accept the other points?

Most of the Noise around immigration now for Democrats are #4.
People seeking actual asylum from South America, are entering official Points of entry, which they are required to and end up in cages, separating them from their children.

And is the arguments now:

1)
There is a willingly misunderstanding now, trying to mix up Asylum seekers #4 with actual Illegal immigration #8, and blaming Democrats just want to let everybody in?

or

2)
And Democrats are arguing that Asylum seekers #4, should be treated like people, and not locked up in cages while they are being actually vetted, returned or allowed in?

.
There is no such thing as Illegal Immigration. Immigration, provided-for in the Constitution, is the legal process of presenting oneself, physically or via documentation, to the appropriate US officials to gain permission to enter the country.

Entering the country illegally is NOT Immigration, it is migration, but NOT immigration.

Number 6 is understated. It is any person who fails to leave after their legal stay period expires. Can be people on tourist visas or those tourists who do not require a visa.

It is also the source of around half of the illegal immigrants and over 2/3 of the current illegal immigrant inflow.

It is for some reason soft peddled by those pushing again illegal immigration who make the southern border the big issue when it is actually secondary to the overstayers.

In a rational world we would make the first priority going after those who are in the country illegally and take care of any border crossers in the same program. We might then at least be able to keep the illegal alien population from growing.

exactly.

I did not know it's illegal for people married a US citizen in order to gain residency.

My wife (who came to the US with a student visa) gains her residency because she married to me (I'm a citizen).

I'm neither a billionaire or the President of United States.

"Illegal migration" should be trending on Twitter then.
