But hey, as an American taxpayer, I'm more than happy for the USA to pull out of Nato, close down all our European bases from Western Europe, and let you guys take care of your own defense.
The EU is not splitting apart at all. Only Britain might leave, based on a silly decision much of the population is already regretting. Other than that the EU will not go anywhere. More likely than not it will even expand.

Oh yes, do us a favor and get lost We could finally become friends with our real neighbors again and be left out of disastrous US foreign politics.

Leave their ships alone and they will leave yours alone. Brits started it, so they need not complain.

Firstly the UK is going to announce a new PM tomorrow, and secondly it's EU sanctions that led to Brotain taking action against the Iranian Tanker in the first place.

Syria: EU renews sanctions against the regime by one year - Consilium

Secondly there may be an EU in the future, although not sure about there being an Iran, as the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia are all just waiting for an opportunity at the moment.

Britain is still a member of the EU and still adheres to EU Laws and santions, and we also adhere to UN Sanctions which Iran itself were subject to until 2016, when the UK and other nations brockered a deal with Iran in order to try and lift sanctions. Britain has dine it's level best to continue with the deal despite the US leaving the eal and reimposing sanctions, despute British Citizens being arrested and imprisoned on trumped up spying charges and despite Iran producing ore Uranium than agreed and attacking shipping.

If Iran is going to choose the current path then it looks like back to 2016 and sanctions, as you can only try and negotiate so far with a state like Iran.

In terms of striking Iran, it's enemies are merely biding their time, Israel has already stated that it will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia is of a similar mindset and Iran is currently goading the Trump aadministration and Trump's National Security Advisor John Bolton.

US to send troops to Saudi Arabia as tensions with Iran grow - BBC News

Is a US-led war with Iran on the horizon as troops head to Saudi Arabia?

Britain already stated before Iran seized a British flagged ship that Britain would release the ship currently held in Gibraltar as long as reassurances were given that it will not be breaking EU sanctions and supply Syria. In terms of the oil under the terms of sanctions, it can't be touched and has to be returned to the country of origin.

Iranian tanker will be released if oil isn't going to Syria, says Hunt - BBC News (14th July 2019)

As for British Registered ships, they will now be escorted by warships in a convoy through the region according to reports.

As for the future the west should increasing look to electric and hydrogen vehicles, battery power storage and sustainable renewable energy sources, in order to replace outdated dirty fossil fuels and a reliance on the middle east region.

We are going in circles. There is no reason for Iran not to ship oil to Syria because the EU is not the UN.
Iran will always be there, it has had a long history of greatness, longer than any of its enemies. And it will survive them all.

Well, I think the Brits will stop seizing Iranian vessels going forward

On a more serious note, I've always been uneasy about the law of seizure of goods at sea. Yes, I understand the need and importance of sanctions enforcement, but I also view many of the sanctions against Iran as ridiculous. Firstly, both Israeli and American intelligence shows that Iran isn't building a bomb. Secondly, who are two nuclear powered countries to tell other countries that they cannot have nukes? If you think that Iran would preemptive use nukes (if it ever decided to get them) or sell them to other parties for use against, say, Israel (the world would view that as tantamount to Iran using the nukes itself, and Iran knows that), I have a bridge to sell you.

Iran is a more stable country than Pakistan is. And Pakistan have numerous nuclear warheads.
