The average IQs of citizens from different nations are listed and Somalia comes in at 68. One wonders what genius thinks that bringing in people who, on the average, are severely mentally impaired and have no chance of ever functioning in a modern western society.
Further, one would assume that a sample from such a population, Omar, is of similar intelligence. That explains a lot. We are viewing her behavior from the prism of intelligent people, thus her behavior seems alien.

Putting aside the methodological problems with the study, why would one assume that Omar represents the average from her country? I wouldn’t give you credit for a 98 IQ just because you live in the U.S.
Ah....that explains it. A lot of Israelis are descendants not only of Holocausr survivors, but of the million or so Jews the Arabs kicked out of their homes.
I think Omar proves that they aren't sending us their best so if the Somali average is 68, she's probably a 58. She definitely shows we need to change our immigration laws to prevent people like her landing here.

Refugees would tend to be from the lower ranks of a nation (see Mexican immigrants), thus we are getting people who will NEVER be able to function above poverty level and will be perpetual federal dependents.
If you think that makes a nation strong, why doesn’t all the innovations and developments in the US come from the mentally impaired?
Do you yourself seek advice or council from someone who is mentally impaired? Should such an individual be making laws in America?

And the hate builds, just what trump wanted. So the graph says the average iq in Somalia is 68 so you believe all Somalis have an iq of 68, pretty narrow thinking

The low figure is skewed because as people who work with these assessments day in and day out, these tests are often culturally biased and there is no single test for "intelligence" and the takers in Somalia don't have the same advantages as people in countries with more economic development and educational opportunities. People in Somalia may also have a different skill set where they could be constantly challenged to to simply survive in bad conditions, which is something people in areas with less adversity might struggle with.
A lot of complex variables go into the validity of these tests and not all comparisons are what they seem.

Good point. However, the statistical chance of Omar being of low intelligence is much higher, having selected from that pool of individuals. The chances are excellent that she is of well below average intelligence in the US......... thus her behavior.
It would be wrong to expect Omar to behave in an intelligent fashion, much like expecting a Model T Ford to top 200mph.

It is interesting that libs, being Marxist in nature, will place emotional labels such as “racist” on a simple statistical fact. If we ignore facts and choose to believe fantasy, our nation is doomed.
Do you think that when one builds a bridge that you rely upon mathematical facts and measurements, or emotional hunches, so as not to be “hateful” toward those not skilled in math?
