Oh yeah, btw..the fiscally conservative republicans lost their right to that rally cry. Whatever happened to The Tea Party and the seizures, conniptions and fits about the national debt?
Your reason is a very thinly veiled excuse.
Deflection. When the answer is obvious to a question maybe made by a conservative (and in this instance the requested solution is or should be acceptable to the left and right) a leftist won't answer the question.
Should English be the USA's official language?
But deflects the question and (1) personally attacks the individual and (2) raises other issues out of the blue.
It has everything to do with overreaching. People who want big government to control everything are discrediting the formation of our country based on a smaller federal government and states having more control. Enforcing a language comes with a cost, as well.
We don't have an official national language as that's fine. There's no reason for the federal government to change this. Those who don't love it the way it is, should leave it.
You still fail to provide an example of how making English our official language on the federal level is over reaching or how it's akin to controlling things by big government. What do you mean by "enforcing" a language? It's merely being given the recognition it deserves as a part of our cultural heritage and would save us billions in having to print federal government documents in many different languages so how does that come with a cost? It would decrease our costs! You make no sense at all! Here in Calif. even though English is our official language our idiotic government has chosen to print documents in Spanish and other languages anyway. It's still a state's right to if they so choose to.
I've already explained to you why we should make English our official language on the federal level and yet you've not given one good reason why we shouldn't. English is already our national de facto language so if you you don't like it then leave yourself!
People often forget that Puerto Rico is a US territory where Spanish is the most commonly used language.
Puerto Rico already has English as it’s official language, along with Spanish, so no change would be necessary. Guam has 2 official languages. Chamorro and English.
I think English as a national official language can be done, and if states or territories want it, they can add more official languages within their own borders. As long as English is one of the official languages.
Should English be declared by the USA as Our Language?
Wasn't necessary for over 240 years, I don't see any particular need.
