You can be sure we'll have another longer, worse heat wave the third week of August. Always happens when we go back to work (I'm a school cafeteria cook in an un-air conditioned kitchen), and/or when school starts up the following week. The one we had at the start of last school year was worse than now, IMO.
On the other hand, most of June here in Western PA was unseasonably chilly and it rained practically every day for the first couple of weeks (we experienced some flooding). At the end of the month, the water in our nearby lake was still almost too cold to swim in, and I'd have practically the whole beach to myself.
June here in southern Missouri was about 10 degrees cooler every day than last year.
