Some high profile coverage of a construction business owner, a Hollywood type with some illegal maids, and a typical suburban family who has an illegal mow their lawn all in cuffs should dry up the demand real quick.
If you want to make a statement go after someone like a golf course owner.

If you shut off the employment spigot illegals will go home.
1) The Republicans didn't have a supermajority in the Senate so couldn't get the 60 votes required to pass cloture.
2) The Dems fight mandatory e-verify legislation tooth and nail.

Look at the E-Verify Law Map, and you'll see that not only do most blue states not have a mandatory e-verify law, but IL and CA actually have laws on the books that prevent the use of e-verify:

Utter nonsense! There are just as many Democrat business owners that hire illegal aliens as there are Republicans. No business owners pretend they are against illegal immigration either. It is those of us conservatives that don't hire illegal aliens that are opposed to illegal immigration and we make up the majority of conservatives.

This BS again??? It has never been proven that Trump personally or knowingly had any illegals working for him. One that I know of that was caught using stolen documents was fired and since then Trump has used e-verify on all of his properties. Get your facts straight!

I wonder how many times we have to repeat all of the above to the liberal left in here before they stop bringing the same things up?

Not only that but Trump has had e-verify in his last two budgets but was probably voted down by the Democrats again just like in the past. They won't sign on for an e-verify bill unless there is an amnesty attached to it.

And this is a recurring theme.

This is a "revenue stream" for the government. Like the mafia used to do with "protection money" that they collected from store owners.

The very same thing when banks/businesses get caught doing wrong. They pay hefty fines to the government and go right back to business.

None of us who are directly impacted ever see a penny of those fines.
No, they haven't worked because as you state, people continue breaking the law.

It's obvious neither the Dems or Republicans want the problem to go away. If they did, it would be gone already. The Dems want the votes, the Republicans want cheap labor.

The last number I saw showed fewer than 500 companies hit with fines. That's not exactly a revenue stream worth protecting.

Not just Republican business's but Dems as well. I am all for imposing jail time for hiring one, it would go a long way in solving our border crisis.

I keep seeing this one fellow on all projects in Florida in my neighborhood.. must be an illegal and paid less.

Yes, E-Verify and get skilled workers from America.. the illegals are learn as you go on building a house... plus the language barrier is a safety issue. Go after the employers too. Too many years without any rules or laws. It has to stop.

Same in Arizona. The housing, home improvement, and agricultural sectors would be shut down along with all the economic benefits they provide if their proprietors faced any serious enforcement of laws against hiring illegal labor.

" Jail time for hiring illegal immigrants?"

There are tons of laws that if broken do not necessarily get you jail time.

Most illegal workers have "fake ID's. Are YOU an EXPERT on recognizing fake ID'S?
