When I was in Europe a few weeks ago, all they talked about was Brexit on the news. They would take a few minutes out on occasion to bash Trump but mostly it was Brexit. We watched them interview two liberal legislators and they were doing a town hall kind of thing. They were trying everything they could think of to get out of Brexit.

I am not sure how much power the PM has over the matter when the parliament is being very cautious about it. Boris can says what he want, but ultimately the parliament has to vote it in. Yes?

Or can the PM declare "hard exit" no matter what?

The UK-US relations are pretty much set in stone, although Trump is doing his best to agitate it. That being the case it is almost irrelevant who happens to be the PM is in UK. Johnson is considered a bit of a clown, but even so the relations will not change between US and UK, so the UK PM selection is not much to celebrate, or cry over in US.

Nope. Parliament has passed that power to the PM. The PM has the power to go to to the Queen, perogue the Parliament, and crash out with no deal which is the default legal result. That's his starting point.

Hahaha. Let these fools argue over Brexit. I’m just delighted they now have a Benny Hill look-alike in office.

Thankfully, in the United Kingdom, Parliament is Supreme, and legislation passed by Parliament cannot be tied up in court; the courts in the United Kingdom are not on equal footing as Parliament.

How is that? The court system in the UK doesn't hold sway over the Parliament and there is no codified Constitution. At best proceedings are determined by Erskine May.

This is going to be interesting. I guess Brexit is really going to happen after all. I had my doubts before this.
