They are closing a loophole. A loophole that let a Minn. millionaire get automatically enrolled and receiving food stamps.

They are also making all states adhere to the same rules....like checking assets and if you have too much you don't get food stamps.

No kids will starve.

Kids already get free lunches & no one is shaming them...however, some parents should be shamed for forcing their child to get free lunch. A nice pb&j costs how much?

One of Obama's crowning achievements was raising the number of food stamp recipients to 55 million people. That's the stark difference between liberals and conservatives. Their yardstick for success is the size of the program.

Bad Bad Bad Bad

As we can clearly see, "America First" had a very different meaning then some thought.
Again, this rule would eliminate automatic approval without verification of income of some TNAF recipients who receive only a small amount of assistance due to their income level. It is not cutting anyone off the program that qualifies according to already established income guidelines.

Yes and in my day it was high school/college kids, housewives working part time to supplement income, retired folks to supplement income, and others who were NOT primary breadwinners.
